Hello Everyone!
My name is Bron and I'm one of the buzy bees behind the scenes here at Arts and Craft Supplies Online and I love to craft. I like to dabble in lots of different mediums but most of my work has been with paper crafting and card making.
BUT today I decided to do something a little different...
I had recently seen our range of Posa markers come in and that got my grey matter thinking of all the things I could do with them and this is how I created my...
Walking on Sunshine Shoes...
To start off with I purchased a cheap pair of white sneekers, like what I used to wear to school back in the 80's (guess that's showing my age!). I picked mine up for about $30.00 from my local Target store.
I also had a bit of a wander around Pininterest for some ideas and discovered it really is not that hard.
To start off with all I did was remove the laces from the shoes, I had a rough idea in my mind what I wanted to do...
I grabbed some masking tape and sealed around the sole of the shoe so I wouldn't get any paint where I didn't want it... Then I sketched out the design I had in mind.
Now for the fun part I just grabbed my Posca paint markers and started colouring in.
Now to start off I purchased the Posca PC-3M8C Fine Bullet Markers - 8 pack I thought this gave me a good base to start from and as I knew what I wanted to draw, I knew the colours I would be using so I also added a cople of other colours too:
Posca PC-3M Fine Line Marker - Beige
Posca PC-3M Fine Line Marker - Dark Brown
Posca PC-3M Fine Line Marker - Bright Yellow
Posca PC-3M Fine Line Marker - Orange
It's really is just like colouring in. If your not confident about drawing freehand you could also trace and transfer the image you want onto your project.
I was really happy with the results although I would say if you were doing a lot of colouring it would probably be better to get one of the larger tip makrers for the fill in work. We have a great range of Posca paint markers for you to choose from, with various nib sizes and shapes. The Poscas I used have a 0.9-1.3mm tip and worked well for the type of drawing I did.
The last thing I did was spray the shoes with 2 coats of Waterproof spray or Scotch Guard, I was ready to head to Bunnings for a can but my other half pointed out I had one in the cupboard all ready - Win! The spary I used recommended 24 hours between each application and I used an old box cut down so I didn't spray everything.
Laces in and now I can start walking on Sunshine....
Did I mention that Sunflowers are my favorite flowers...
Hope you have a go at brightening up, something you might already have at home the possabilities are endless...
