Bride and Groom Die from MFT

Special Cards for Special Occasions

Written for My Favorite Things by Karolyn Loncon

Well, hello friends!  I am thrilled beyond words to be back as a guest designer for My Favorite Things. I have a deep and loving appreciation for the amazing products from My Favorite Things, so when Jody asked me to create a few projects using the newly released June products, I didn’t hesitate! I’m sharing one of the projects I created today.

The basis of this card is the Bride and Groom Die from MFT. The other products can be interchanged with items you have at home...explore and create using your creative explorative nature!

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Final

I love a card that has a fun and interesting fold. I especially love the Z-fold card design – it really packs a great design punch, and always has a surprise inside – BONUS! Here are the step-by-step directions for creating this card:

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 1
Make the card base from Sno Cone Card Stock (5.5” x 8.5″) and score at 4.25” and fold. Ink up the Romantic Script Background with white pigment ink. Stamp the background on both sides of the inside of the card base.
MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 2

Score the left side of the card base at 2 1/8”.

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 3

Fold the left side of the card base so that the left edge is even with the card base centre fold.

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 4

Die cut the Bride & Groom elements from white and black card stock. Assemble the bride and groom, embellish, and attach together using foam tape. Adhere the bride and groom to the card base with foam tape (on the back of the bridal gown only) so that the bride and groom are centered on the card.

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 5

Die cut the Pierced Fishtail Flag twice from white card stock. Use the squared off edge of the Pierced Fishtail Flag die to cut a rectangle that will fit the sentiment; trim the fishtail end.  Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment. Assemble the sentiment banner, adhering the left fishtail with foam tape.

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 6

Stamp and emboss the inside sentiment on the second Pierced Fishtail Flag die cut. Adhere sentiment strip to the right side of the card base, and crease at the center fold (also making sure that the strip slides under the left side sentiment banner and lines up correctly.)

MFT Z-Fold Bride & Groom Card Step 7

Look how fun it looks when you close it up – as though the banner is one cohesive piece, right?  But, of course, we all know that there’s a surprise waiting inside! Who wouldn’t love to get this sweet card for their special day? My sister is getting married this summer, so this little gem will be heading her way soon. I hope she and her new husband will love it as much as I do.  I adore these Die-namics and stamp sets, and will most definitely be using them again and again! Thanks so much for dropping by today, and a BIG thank you to My Favorite Things for having me! I’ll be popping in again soon with more My Favorite Things projects!
