Start by taping your stencil to your cardstock. I prefer to use washi tape to do this because it is easily removable and won’t rip my paper.

Hold your Reactive Mist about 12-18 inches from your paper and spray over the top of the stencil in FIRM, quick strokes. You’ll want to make sure you’re pressing the sprayer all the way down in one quick movement.

This is something you may want to practice once or twice before you decide to spray it on your final project. Reactive Mist is thicker than Color Shine and doesn’t provide the same coverage Color Shine does. Holding the bottle a little further away and spraying firmly will ensure a little more even coverage.

DON’T WORRY if you don’t completely cover your paper…this technique is meant to give you a more “mixed media” look…

Finish spraying and allow your project to dry for about 10 minutes before removing the stencil.

Throw away your used washi tape and wash your stencil with soap and warm water.

ALLOW YOUR PAPER TO DRY COMPLETELY!

I cannot emphasize this enough. Your paper must be completely dry before you run it through your Minc. Reactive Mist take a while to dry and will dry with texture (i.e. bubbles will remain raised and bubbly), so if you Minc your project while it’s even slightly wet it will cause the mist to smear. I’ll often allow my Mist projects to dry overnight…yes, overnight.
